Where the car meets you this year, before you reserve a ride to Eppley Airfield from Omaha, NE
If you live in Omaha, Nebraska and fly out of Eppley Airfield this fall, you will find the building in the middle of a rebuild. As of October 2026 it works as two separate halves, private cars stop inside a garage, and one road to the north is closed. Read this before you reserve a ride to Eppley Airfield from Omaha, NE, so the pickup time and the meeting point in your written confirmation make sense the moment you open it.

Two halves, two sets of gates
As of October 2026, the terminal at Eppley Airfield is split in two, and it stays that way until 2027. The center of the building is closed. No walkway joins the halves indoors, so getting from one to the other means going outside and walking around.
Before the ride, look at the gate letter printed on your boarding pass. An A points you to the South Terminal and a B to the North Terminal, and knowing which one saves a cold walk between them.
- South Terminal: Doors 1 and 2, gates A1 to A10
- North Terminal: Doors 4 and 5, gates B11 to B20
- Center of the building: closed, with no inside path across
Where private cars stop for departures
Private cars no longer pull up at the terminal front this year. As of October 2026 they drop riders off and pick them up on Level 1 of the South Garage. The lane along the front of the terminal has become a Commercial Lane, kept for buses and for vehicles taller than 6 feet 10 inches, among others.
Where a reserved car lets you out is the car company's call, and it can differ from what you remember of earlier years. This page describes how the airport is laid out this fall; the written confirmation from the car company describes your own ride.
Coming home and spotting your car
After you land, the place to look for your car is the meeting point named in the car company's written confirmation. The car company sets it for that ride, and with the terminal split it is worth reading again on the day you fly home.
Riders often ask whether a car can meet at terminal doors, the way pickups used to work. That answer belongs to the car company, and it gives it in writing. The office passes on the place the car company names and adds none of its own. On a both-ways date, if the evening flight runs late, call the car company number printed on its confirmation.
A closed stretch of Pershing Drive
As of October 2026, John J. Pershing Drive is closed between Dick Collins Road and Craig Avenue, and it stays closed through October 2027. Traffic is sent around the gap on 30th Street for as long as the work lasts.
Rides from the north take that detour: Florence, Irvington, Bennington, Fort Calhoun, Blair and Kennard. The minutes printed for those places on the fares pages were measured with the 30th Street route already in them, so they hold as written.
Changes due in 2027, and fresh confirmations
The split is set to end in 2027, and Pershing Drive is due to reopen after October 2027. Doors, garage levels and lanes may shift again when the halves join, so a meeting point written months ahead can go out of date before the ride.
For that reason, any ride more than 30 days after the first ride of a request gets a second look. Seven days before it, the office asks the car company to confirm that ride again and passes the new confirmation on, with the pickup time and the meeting point for that day. Anything this page leaves open is likely answered in the airport ride FAQ for Omaha, NE.
